Bursary Recipients in 2011
On September 22nd, 2011 the Fellowship of Sts Cyril and Methodios awarded bursaries to 21 students representing Ukrainian Orthodox parishes in the GTA.  The number of bursaries provided by the Fellowship since the inception of the program in 1998 now totals a hundred and eighty-one (181).  In addition to providing financial support. the bursaries and the dinner is held to show the students that there are part of the Ukrainian Orthodox community that cares about their success in school and in life.

His Grace Bishop Andriy was able to attend the dinner.  In addition to the presence of our parish priests, Rt. Rev. Protopresbyter Bohdan Sencio and Very Rev. Archpriest
Dr. Jaroslaw S. Buciora, we also welcomed Rev. Makarenko of St. Demetrius and Rev Feskiv of St. Anne's. Because many of the students are studying at universities outside of Toronto, we were please that nine students were able to attend, receive their bursaries, and share a little bit about their fields of study.

The event opened with a prayer led by Rt. Rev. Protopresbyter Bohdan Sencio. After dinner, the presentations were made. Acknowledgment of the support provided by the golf tournament sponsors was made as they are key to the financial fundraising. A special thank you was also extended to Rosalie Sametz for covering the cost of the dinner.  After dinner,  His Grace Bishop Andriy presented the bursaries to the students present or family members representing those absent.  Bishop Andriy wished them success and his best wishes to the students.   The evening closed with a prayer led by Rev. Buciora.
