Bursary Awards — 2009

Since 2000 when the bursary program was started, our Fellowship has tried to recognize and help students in pursuing their academic goals. This year, the Fellowship of Sts Cyril and Methodios is proud to present 19 bursaries to student from Ukrainian Orthodox parishes in the GTA. The September dinner meeting was opened by Rt. Rev. Mitred Archpriest Bohdan Sencio with a prayer, His Eminence Archbishop Yurij and Very Rev. Archpriest Bohdan Hladio of the St. John the Baptist of Oshawa  us were present.  Thanks to the hard work of our Golf Committee, the Fellowship has been able to award 138 bursaries since the inception of the program.  A special thanks St. Demetrius Sobor for their generous contribution to our Fellowship Bursary program, and to Michael Woloshyn who sponsored the dinner.  After the dinner, Archbishop Yurij presented the bursaries to the students and wished them success.  Fr. Sencio also expressed  his best wishes to the students.  It was a wonderful evening, and we left looking forward to our 10th anniversary next year.
